Cryptocurrency ‘fraudster’ Sam Bankman-Fried charged with four new crimes over collapse of $250bn exchange FTX

Sam Bankham-Friend, the founder of FTX who was previously disgraced, is facing further legal troubles as he has been charged with four additional counts of bank fraud.

The new indictment also accuses him of portraying himself as the ‘savior’ of the cryptocurrency industry and having a messiah complex.

Court documents released on Thursday show that Bankham-Friend is now facing a total of 12 charges, including bank fraud and operating an unlicensed money transmitter.

Additionally, prosecutors allege that he boasted about FTX’s profits. The situation is still unfolding.
