Collinsworth said, “I have nothing” in response to the gimme throw. “This is essentially a layup. This is comparable to witnessing LeBron James miss a layup… I have no idea what I’m viewing.”
The Buccaneers’ offense has struggled considerably this season, averaging 17.7 points per game compared to 30.1 last year. It is unknown whether Brady and Gage had a miscommunication. The errors have also prompted heated sideline rants from Tampa Bay’s quarterback, whose future with the team, let alone in the NFL, is still uncertain.
Sunday’s 19-16 victory over the Cardinals saw Brady complete 32 of 48 passes for 281 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions while rallying the Buccaneers from a 10-point deficit. The seven-time Super Bowl champion has 21 touchdowns and nine interceptions through 15 games this season, compared to 43 touchdowns and 12 interceptions through 17 regular-season games in 2021.
The Buccaneers can win the NFC South on Sunday if they defeat the Panthers, who defeated the Lions by a score of 37-23 on Saturday.
