Could I please have some Mo? Farah claims he will run his final London Marathon in 2023

Mo Farah, a British sports legend, has stated that this year’s London Marathon will likely be his last as he contemplates the conclusion of his stellar career.

The 40-year-old is most renowned for his success on the track, where he won gold in the 5,000- and 10,000-meter events at both the London 2012 and Rio 2016 Olympic Games, as well as many world crowns in both distances.

And despite the fact that his marathon career has not reached the same heights, Farah is eager to compete in London again on April 23, despite turning 40 years old before then.

In a statement published by the event’s organizers, he stated, “It’s been an incredible career, and running in the London Marathon is a huge honor.”

“I was devastated to miss the race last year and I’d like to try again.

“It depends on my physical condition. I simply wish to reach the starting line and assess my capabilities. I am focusing on one race at a time.”

He continued, “I’m no longer a spring bird. You can’t keep returning in good condition, and I’d prefer to be able to finish it at home.”

In 2019, MO FARAH finished fifth in London.
Farah has ruled out running in the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, but he may attempt to end his international career at this year’s World Championships in Budapest.

“I will not participate in the Olympics, and I believe 2023 will be my final year,” he added.

“However, if it came down to it at the end of the year and I was selected for my country, I would never say no.”

Mo Farah’s last race in London was in 2019, where he placed fifth after finishing third the year prior.

Therefore, it has been some time, he added.

“However, I’ll be well-prepared; I’ll travel to Ethiopia and engage in a great deal of rigorous training before April.
