Conrad (Matt Czuchry) must make a choice in Tuesday’s “Two Hearts”

On Tuesday’s “Two Hearts,” the season six opener of “The Resident,” Conrad (Matt Czuchry) must make a crucial decision.

But regardless of whether he decides to pursue a relationship with Cade (Kaley Ronayne) or Billie (Jessica Lucas), he will always be completely devoted to his daughter Gigi (Remington Blaire Evans).

We hope that the scene from the season opener, to which Insider was given unique access, doesn’t portend difficulties for the father-daughter relationship in the future for Gigi.

After having a dream about a mysterious, black-clad person entering her room and locking the door before making its way to her bed, Gigi wakes up crying out for her father.

“A nasty guy was present. He frightened me “In the video, Gigi states. She insists despite Conrad’s assurances that he is the only other person in the space, claiming “he was going to harm me.”

Despite giving her his word that he won’t allow anybody to harm her, Conrad nevertheless invites her to sleep in his bed without much of a fuss.

Because she believes her dad is ready to make a decision about his romantic life, we hope she is really simply experiencing a horrible dream, but anything is possible in “The Resident.”

According to Fox’s official description of the debut episode, “Two Hearts” will also compel the medical staff at Chastain Park Memorial to band together in order to achieve a “miracle” when Padma’s pregnancy takes a “dangerous” turn.

It’s likely that Season 6 will be the first complete season of the program without Emily VanCamp, who portrayed Nic Nevin, Conrad’s wife, and Gigi’s mother. In season five, Nic was eliminated. After having her own kid with husband Josh Bowman in October, VanCamp told Deadline that her “priorities evolved,” which prompted her to quit the popular medical drama.

VanCamp said her choice to quit the show at the time was “bittersweet,” but she later came back so Nic could be seen in flashbacks on the fifth season finale, when she said she’d want Conrad to find love again if anything ever happened to her.

Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET on Fox, “The Resident” season six premieres.
