Coach Jason Ryan says New Zealand have already made ‘progress’ in preparing to face the Boks.

Under-fire Prior to the Rugby Championship, All Blacks coach Ian Foster has kept his position; however, forwards coach John Plumtree, a former Sharks coach, and attack coach Brad Mooar, a former employee of South Africa, have been fired following “robust and in-depth conversations.”

In a thrilling doubleheader scheduled for the first half of August, the Boks will take on the All Blacks.

New Zealand is coming off a humiliating series loss against Ireland, while South Africa secured a 2-1 series victory over Wales.

The balance and caliber of the current All Blacks team have been seriously questioned, and former Springboks coach Nick Mallett recently asserted that the current New Zealand squad will find it difficult to compete with the Boks up front.

After the dismissal of two important coaches, Jason Ryan from the Crusaders has been hired.

For the past six years, Ryan has coached the forwards for the undefeated Crusaders team, which has won six Super Rugby championships.

He said the All Blacks pack might be “dented,” but they are prepared to face any challenge the Springboks might present.

The All Black pack has been damaged, there is no running from it, Ryan declared on Tuesday.

We were completely open and honest in the forwards’ meeting, as we had to be.

Because we must, despite our disappointment, we will move on and quickly get better.

“We must halt mauls (against South Africa), without a doubt.

There needs to be some work done on that and our contact area.

“We must take action that will benefit us.

Since we have a Test match in less than a week and the Crusaders’ success has been built over a long period of time, we need to act quickly to put a few crucial things in place.

We definitely made some progress, in my opinion.

Foster rejected calls to remove Sam Cane as captain of the All Blacks for the Rugby Championship following a historic home series loss on Friday, insisting that he can still turn around their fortunes.

All Blacks “have a plan to play a brand of rugby against South Africa that New Zealanders will be proud of,” according to Foster.

Foster praised Jason as a “proven performer” with “plenty of experience at the international level.”

“Last year, we saw firsthand the difference he made for Fiji’s forwards, which added to his ongoing development as the Crusaders’ forwards coach.

His appointment now is obviously made with the RWC 2023 in mind.

As of right now, Joe Schmidt is officially acting as an independent All Blacks selector.

Furthermore, Schmidt will collaborate with Foster on the overall strategy and attack play in addition to having a significant analysis role.

In the near future, Foster will start directing the backs again.
