Some viewers claimed that hearing the queen speak for the first time came via a TikTok compilation.
A monarchy-themed TikTok account called @british.royalty posted a video with many footage of the Queen making various comments at royal engagements. Before moving on to the film, the writing on the screen says, “Queen Elizabeth once said…”
One film, which appeared in many of the videos, showed the Queen attempting to cut a cake with a ceremonial sword at a 2021 ceremony. When warned that there was a knife nearby, she said, “I’m sure there is. This is a more unusual situation “as the audience laughed
Other clips showed her urging people to “get away” when she was informed she shouldn’t be doing anything.
The user captioned the video with #funnymoments and termed the Queen “amusing.” The video has over 23 million views, with top comments including I love her she’s so cute” and “there’s something strange about hearing her talk like a normal human.”
“I HAVE NEVER HEARD HER SPEAK,” one commenter said. It garnered over 100 reactions, with some expressing surprise that a viewer could be hearing the Queen’s voice for the first time on TikTok, while many others said they had never heard her speak before.
The Queen’s apparent sense of humour is one of the qualities that some fans like.
A series of such clips were shown in a video by @editsfy00, a TikTok account with nearly 200,000 followers that has posted a number of videos about the royal family since the Queen’s death, including the Queen thanking Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau for “making me feel so old” in response to Trudeau saying he was the 12th Canadian Prime Minister to be elected during her reign.
The video also showed the Queen remarking, “Are you supposed to seem like you’re having fun?” in response to Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s question, “How’s that?” at a photo opportunity with world leaders at the G7 Summit in 2021
The film was viewed over 18 million times, and many people commented that they “liked” the Queen’s sense of humor and that her jokes were always “diplomatic.”
Millions of people have watched compilations of the Queen’s funniest moments.
TikTok user @nickstapleton86, who has over 30,000 followers, shared a video titled “Queens amusing moments.”
