Christina Aguilera is the latest celebrity to open up about her cosmetic work.

Christina Aguilera, the 42-year-old pop icon, has become the latest celebrity ambassador for Merz Aesthetics and Xeomin, an injectable used to treat frown lines between the eyebrows, much like Botox.

In an interview with Allure, Aguilera talked about her decision to try Xeomin and the importance of being open and honest about cosmetic work. The Grammy-winning artist consulted with her doctors and glam squad before deciding to try the anti-wrinkle treatment.

Aguilera also expressed concern that the treatment might hinder her ability to connect with her fans on an emotional level while performing on stage. She said, “When I’m on stage, authenticity in my face comes first. I have a very expressive face, and when I sing, the emotion there has got to come through.”

In a recent interview with People, the singer talked about her view on aging, stating, “Viewing aging as a negative is a super old-school approach.”

Aguilera said she’s not trying to turn back the clock and wants to feel self-assured in every stage of her life. She added, “It’s harmful when [aging] becomes an obsession.”

Aguilera also emphasized that she did not want to entirely immobilize her face so that she could continue to be expressive on stage. The singer believes that aging is a personal conversation and that what works for some people might not work for others.
