Chris Redd is dating Kenan Thompson’s estranged wife.
Christina Evangeline, 33, is divorced from her husband, with whom she shares children Georgina, eight, and Gianni, four, but is reportedly “happier than she has ever been” since beginning a relationship with Thompson’s co-star on “Saturday Night Live.”
A source said: “Christina and Chris began dating at the start of the current year. Before (Chris) started working on “SNL,” they became friends and have remained so for years.
They were always really close. Last year, he was there for her during some of the most difficult days in her life… She seemed to be happier than she has ever been. Her friendship with Chris is wonderful and typical.”
The source went on to say that “conversations had been conducted” to advise those closest to the former couple that Evangeline has moved on and that the former “Kenan and Kel” star wished his estranged wife well as he continues his search for a new partner.
A insider informed UsWeekly: “Prior to the revelation of the news, everyone in their group had discussed the relationship and was aware of it. Kenan is seeing other women (too). He wants her well-being.”
In the meantime, Redd recently chose to leave “Saturday Night Live” after five years on the variety comedy show. An insider claimed that it was simply the “perfect time” to move on and emphasized that there was no “bad will” between him and his fellow cast members.
The insider reported: “Chris has upcoming commitments that conflict with his ‘SNL’ schedule. Since it was time for him to move on, he believes he made the correct choice by leaving “SNL.” He is still tight with the cast, and no ill will exists.”
