California police have published surveillance footage of a man wearing a hooded sweater, beanie, trousers, and an all-black COVID-style mask in relation to’six murders that could be the work of a serial killer on a mission.’
Tuesday, the Stockton Police Department published surveillance footage of a suspect wanted for interrogation, urging anyone with information to contact them.
Stockton Police Chief Stanley McFadden stated at a news conference that forensic ballistics evidence has established a relationship between the cases, which have left residents of the Northern California city on edge.
The incidents occurred between April 10 and September 27. Six victims perished, while the seventh victim survived her injuries.
We do not know the motivation. We feel, however, that it is mission-driven. This individual is on a mission,’ added McFadden.
The chief stated that it is unclear what the victims, who ranged in age from 21 to 54 and comprised both men and women, have in common.
All but one were attacked in the Stockton region, with the sole survivor being a 46-year-old lady who was shot in Oakland.

Ballistics evidence has linked the cases that have residents of the Northern California city on edge.
The Stockton Police Department released surveillance camera footage of a man described by McFadden as a “person of interest” as he strolled down the corridor of an apartment building or motel.
McFadden stated that investigators lacked proof connecting the man on the video to the shootings, but wanted to interview him as part of their investigation.
He requested that everyone seeing the clip take note of the man’s “uneven stride” and unnaturally erect stance. There is a prize of $125,000 for information leading to an arrest.
Stockton is a city of over 300,000 inhabitants in the central valley of California, approximately 60 miles east of San Francisco.
Five killings have been linked in Stockton since July; four of the victims were Hispanic. Five of the victims were found dead in Stockton.
Paul Alexander Yaw, age 35, Salvador William Dubedy Jr., age 43, Jonathan Hernandez Rodriguez, age 21, Juan Cruz, age 52, and Lorenzo Lopez, age 54, were the individuals.
The males were discovered dead alone in the wee hours of the morning, and all murders occurred in dimly lighted locations. Several of the casualties were unsheltered.
Police say ‘physical evidence’ links the five homicides.
Then, two predawn shootings that occurred in 2021 were linked to the previous run of murders.
On April 10, 2021, a 40-year-old Hispanic male was fatally shot in Oakland, California, while on April 16, 2021, a 46-year-old Black lady survived being shot at Park and Union streets in Stockton.

Yaw was the only victim who was not Hispanic out of the five.
His mother, Greta Bogrow, said in a statement, ‘He was a beloved son, father, grandchild, nephew, cousin, and brother.’ He has left a tremendous void in our hearts, and I hope the perpetrator(s) be apprehended before this tragedy occurs again.’
According to Bogrow, Yaw was homeless when he passed away.
According to the San Joaquin County Coroner’s Office, Jonathan Hernandez Rodriguez, age 21, was discovered dead in a vehicle on East Hammer Lane on August 11.
54-year-old Lorenzo Lopez was one of the elderly victims. His brother Jerry Lopez stated, ‘It’s difficult to comprehend that this has occurred. My brother and I have essentially been identical twins. A year separated us, so we were rather close.’
Salvador William Dubedy Jr., age 43, was a resident and parent of Stockton. He died at the scene of his shooting, five minutes after Yaw was wounded, despite police efforts to resuscitate him.
His wife discovered the alleged connection between the five deaths through social media and was dissatisfied that she was not contacted immediately.

Mayor of Stockton Kevin Lincoln stated that his administration is collaborating with the police department to bring the perpetrator to justice.
During a press conference on Friday, Stockton Police Chief McFadden stated, “What makes these cases so difficult is that there are no witnesses due to the location, timing, and lack of light.”
He informed reporters that detectives had analyzed hundreds of hours of video material.
We believe they are connected in some way. To what extent is yet unknown,’ he continued.
He stated, “By definition, you might label this someone a serial killer.”
It is inconsistent with what we are accustomed to seeing in gang-related murders.
“Because one of our victims was a white male, we have no reason to believe these are hate crimes.”
Some of them had residences. Some even resided in the vicinity, but they were not all homeless.’
The Stockton police have encouraged residents not to go alone at night and to avoid dimly lit areas.
