Child drag display spurs armed left-right protests outside Oregon bar

At a “drag queen tale event” in Oregon, where an 11-year-old performer whose previous “drag mom” is accused of pedophilia was scheduled to appear, heated arguments broke out.

Outside the venue, Old Nick’s Pub, which is named after Satan and hosts adult fetish evenings, protesters denouncing the event clashed with supporters.

Police said that some of the approximately 200 protesters on both sides of the standoff were armed, including with semi-automatic weapons.

The concert still carried on despite the disorderly scenes outside the Eugene bar, despite the fact that the young artist, whose stage name is Vanellope MacPherson DuPont, apparently did not enter the stage as scheduled.

Since then, it has come to light that Kelsey Meta Boren, a woman who describes herself as one of Vanellope’s “drag parents,” was accused of three counts of child sex offenses earlier this year.

The 31-year-old Boren, a former employee at a school, is accused of sending child pornography online. She has shared multiple pictures of the girl with the girl on Instagram, referring to her as “my drag baby” in several of the pictures.

Boren was charged in August and is now being held.

Dramatic video of the demonstrations on Sunday showed irate protesters “throwing missiles” at the opposing throng, including smoke grenades.

Go home, Nazis! were yelled by event supporters, who also held a sign that said, “Protect trans youngsters.”

What type of monster exposes kids to this, counter-protesters held a placard that said.

They also yelled at the supporters, “Save our children!”

Vanellope is here to demonstrate what an 11-year-old drag queen is capable of, according to a previous Facebook post by the bar to advertise the event.

Vanellope is here to brighten up your morning with all of her drag skills, with all the charm and sweetness of a bowl of sugary cereal.

The post received both positive and negative feedback.

The connection between Vanellope and Boren, according to a statement made by her family and friends, was entirely “professional” and the two only had four or five encounters.

Meta-Boren wasn’t a family friend and she never served as V’s drag industry mentor, the statement said.

As of the time of Meta-arrest Boren’s in August, “They, too, have not had any communication since before covid, and all links have been cut.”

Another handler of Vanellope is drag artist Sunshine Ray MacPherson, actual name Jennifer Hibbs.

According to Hibbs, “Her real mother performs her choreography so that it’s all acceptable,” the Post Millennial. We wouldn’t allow her to act suggestively… It’s awful that people think we would allow her to do that.

Hibbs also made an effort to keep Vanellope and herself away from Boren.

The bar asserts that the criticism has been used to draw storytime events into a “agenda intended at pushing forth anti-LGBTQ legislation.”

Drag is an art form, it has also been stated. It is bigoted to believe that anything is sexually motivated by nature.

Additionally, Old Nick’s has held $10-per-ticket fetish evenings in the past, with prior events including “impact play,” “rope suspension,” and “electric play.”

According to the Eugene Police Department, “security arrangements” were made for the event in advance “because opposing parties were discussing intentions to attend, maybe armed.”

According to a statement from the police, groups of protesters started showing around about 9.45 am, and “firearms were reported present in both groups.”
