Cher is requesting “love and understanding” from her followers regarding her most recent relationship.
The legendary musician, 76, announced on Twitter over the weekend that she is seeing the 40-years-younger music executive Alexander Edwards, days after the couple was spotted walking hand-in-hand in West Hollywood.
The “Believe” singer tweeted a photo of the 36-year-old Def Jam Recordings employee with the name “Alexander” and a red heart emoji.
In a subsequent tweet, Cher retorted to “haters” who had pointed out their age gap, saying, “I’m Not Defending Us. Haters are Gonna Hate…Doesn’t Matter That and Not Bothering Anyone.”

To a fan who voiced concern about Edwards’ “intentions” toward the icon, Cher responded, “As we All Know…I WASN’T BORN TODAY,& What I Know For Sure…There Are No Guarantees. Whenever you make a Choice You Take a Chance. I’ve Always Taken Chances… It’s Who I Am.”
She also replied to another follower, “LOVE DOES NOT UNDERSTAND MATH, IT SEEs.”
In additional reactions to her tweets, Cher exclaimed that Edwards treats her “like a queen” and has already met “everyone in my family.”
Last week, the singer first alluded at her new romance by tweeting cryptically, “One area of my life is SO AMAZING.”

Edwards previously dated Amber Rose, 39, the ex-girlfriend of Kanye West, with whom he shares a three-year-old son, Slash Electric Alexander Edwards.
Rose accused the producer of multiple affairs in August 2021. According to People, she posted on Instagram Stories, “All 12 of y’all bums (the ones I know of, there are definitely more) may take him.”
Edwards later came on Instagram Live with DJ Big Von to discuss the allegations, and he acknowledged that they were accurate.
Cher was previously married to Sonny Bono from 1964 to 1975 and to the late artist Gregg Allman from 1975 to 1979. In addition, she has been romantically linked to Warren Beatty, Tom Cruise, Val Kilmer, record label executive David Geffen, and Kiss vocalist Gene Simmons.
