Charlize Theron stated a male director’s clothing fittings were “all about my sexuality”

Everything was “so evident that it has to do with my sexuality and how fuckable they could make me,” Charlize Theron recalled of a male director who once made her go to several outfit fittings.

In an interview with Harper’s Bazaar’s Leah Chernikoff that was published on Thursday, Theron, 47, discussed her experience. “Having absolutely no control over what you’re wearing is a major one that really fucking bothered me for years,” the “Mad Max” actress told the publication.

She said, “Having some man force you to have a fitting practically in front of them—stuff like that, it’s just demeaning.” “There was no talk going on when I began. “This is what you’re wearing,” it said.”

Theron then remembered a time when a male director had her go through many outfit fittings.

“And I specifically recall one movie when the male director kept casting me in, fitting after fitting after fitting after…

Additionally, it was very evident that it had to do with my sexual orientation and how fuckable they could make me in the film,” Theron said. And when I first began out, it was really standard.

The event didn’t involve a specific film or director, according to Theron.

Theron said in the interview that part of the reason she founded her production business, Denver & Delilah, was to have greater control over the costumes and cosmetics.

She told the site, “There’s a natural desire in me to want to create situations that feel like the things that I wish I had when I started out 30 years ago.

Theron has already admitted to feeling uneasy on site.

Theron and Tom Hardy reportedly had conflict on set while shooting “Mad Max: Fury Road” in February 2022.

A female producer followed Theron around the set after she had an altercation with Hardy, according to “Blood, Sweat & Chrome: The Wild and True Story of ‘Mad Max: Fury Road’”.

“I didn’t feel safe,” she said. “It got to a point where it was kind of out of hand, and there was a sense that maybe sending a woman producer down could maybe equalise some of it.”
