CCTV exposes women stealing new stroller from the Baby Bunting store in Cannington

Two women have been caught on CCTV allegedly stealing a brand new stroller from the Baby Bunting store in Cannington, a suburb in southern Perth.

The incident occurred on February 18, when the two suspects entered the store with an old pram and a baby inside it.

The woman then took a new stroller off the shelf, removed the tags, and transferred the baby from the old pram to the new one.

The old stroller was left behind, and the pair confidently walked out of the store’s main entrance with the new pram and the baby.

The Western Australia Police investigated the incident for two weeks but could not identify the suspects.

They then turned to Facebook for help, posting screenshots from the Baby Bunting store and asking the public for assistance in tracking down the thieves. The Facebook post received much attention, and many people commented on the suspects’ appearance. However, the police identified the pair on Monday afternoon with the help of information provided by Crime Stoppers.

If there is enough evidence to proceed with the charges, the suspects would most likely be charged with stealing.

The police had used local radio to try and find the two women, appealing for help in an interview with ‘Burgo’ on 6iX on Saturday morning.

The incident has raised concerns about the safety of babies and the need to be vigilant against such brazen acts of theft.
