The quarterfinal Carabao Cup matchups have been determined following Liverpool’s loss to Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City on Thursday night.
Manchester United was paired with League One’s Charlton Athletic shortly after Manchester City defeated defending champions Liverpool by a score of 3-2 on Thursday night. Six Premier League teams will square off, while Manchester United will face Charlton Athletic.
Charlton is the only non-Premier League team still in the competition after defeating Brighton & Hove Albion 4-3 on penalties in the fourth round, while their opponents defeated Vincent Kompany’s Championship side Burnley 2-0 on Wednesday night at Old Trafford.
In the last eight, Nottingham Forest will host Wolverhampton at the City Ground, while Eddie Howe’s Newcastle will meet Brandon Rodgers’ Leicester City at the St. James’s Stadium.
The quarter-final matches will begin on January 10.
