Bus narrowly misses three children as it smashes into a row of parked cars – no one was injured

As it veered down the street and smashed into a row of parked automobiles, a bus narrowly missed a group of children on bikes.

At shortly before 4.50pm last Saturday on Alton St, Crewe, the bus collides with the side of a van and ploughs into the back of a red saloon vehicle, as shown on CCTV.

The saloon slams into a parked automobile in front of it, which slams into a lamppost, sending both vehicles spinning into the middle of the road.

The bus comes to a complete stop on the road.

According to Cheshire Police, no children were injured in the collision.

A spokesperson for Cheshire Police said: ‘At 4.53pm on Saturday June 18, police were called to reports of a collision on Alton Street, Crewe. Officers attended and found a bus had [hit] four parked cars before coming to a stop on the pavement.

‘A number of children were in the area at the time but thankfully there were no reports of any injuries. The road was closed while the damaged vehicles were removed from the scene.

‘The driver of the bus was shaken as a result of the incident. No arrests have been taken place.’

The daughter of a resident on the street said the incident ‘was just outside’ her mother’s house. She described it as ‘proper unfortunate’, but said ‘no-one was hurt.’

Keith Myatt, head of business development for the Status Bus Group, which includes D&G Bus Limited, said: ‘The incident is currently being investigated, so until we have established the facts we have no further comment.’

The incident is being investigated, according to D&G.
