Pop icon Britney Spears has expressed her happiness at finally meeting the 20-month-old twins of her long-standing friend Lance Bass.
This comes after Bass previously stated that he was barred from interacting with her.

Sharing her elation at the encounter, Spears referred to herself as a “new auntie” and posted photos of herself and Bass, each holding one of the twins, along with Spears’ husband Sam Asghari.

She took to Twitter on Monday to share her feelings, writing: “I’m a new auntie for Lance’s babies!!! They are absolutely gorgeous babies!!!”
Bass on Their Separation
Bass, who was present at Spears and Asghari’s wedding the previous year, also mentioned being “kept away” from the pop singer as she battled to dissolve her 13-year conservatorship.
During a 2021 episode of the Heather Dubrow’s World podcast, he revealed, “I haven’t spoken to her for years.
“We’ve been kept away from each other for quite a while.”
He further mentioned to Page Six last May that all his attempts to contact her were blocked by her team.
Attempts at Reunion
Despite these obstacles, in June, Bass confirmed that Spears, through her team, expressed a desire to meet up and “meet the kids and all that.”
However, he claimed that Spears’ handlers tried to prevent their reunion, highlighting the number of intermediaries he had to negotiate to connect with his old friend.

In a surprising twist, Bass discovered in 2021 through the Ancestry series of 2 Lies & A Leaf that he was a sixth cousin, once removed, of Spears.
This familial link implies that Spears is not just a friend but also a distant relative to Bass’s twins.

Upon uncovering this family tie, an excited Bass said: “This is amazing — oh my gosh! Look, I wanted to be related to the Queen.
“Well, now I’m related to the queen of pop! … She is like family to me, so the fact that we are blood-related is amazing.”
