Brit who fell 3 storeys in Thailand needs £250,000 to get home for medical treatment

A British tourist on holiday in Thailand fell from a hotel balcony, suffering serious injuries that require life-saving surgery and between £170,000-£250,000 to cover the cost of flying him home to the UK.

Kieran, a personal trainer from Yorkshire, was rushed from the Phi Phi to Bangkok Phuket Hospital, where he underwent vital surgery for internal bleeding and pelvic fractures.

Although Kieran is now recovering, he is unable to move from a laying down position and urgently requires a second operation to insert internal fixations before he can begin the long process of learning to walk again. Unfortunately, the couple’s medical bills are piling up, and they cannot afford to fly home without help.

Kieran, reported to be of Castleford, West Yorkshire, fell three storeys from a hotel balcony

In a JustGiving campaign, Kieran’s girlfriend Shauna May explained that their dream holiday had turned into a nightmare, and they were now in an exhaustive and tiring fight with the insurance company. Despite their best efforts, they were unable to keep up with the hospital bills, and Kieran’s family had exhausted their savings.

Shauna emphasised the importance of getting Kieran home as soon as possible, not only for his physical well-being but also for his mental health and career as a personal trainer.

The couple has raised over £16,000 as part of their crowdfunding plea, but they still need more help to cover the cost of the air ambulance and medical expenses.

The situation is particularly urgent because delaying the second operation could lead to further complications and an increased risk of infection.

Shauna reiterated her heartbreak at seeing Kieran suffer and her desperation to get him home, stating that they could not keep up with the payments or afford to fly home without help.
