Book launch-date clash between Harry’s publisher and Mitchelle Obama

The authors of Prince Harry’s planned memoir, Michelle Obama, and the book’s publishers are battling over the publication date, which may be humiliating.

The former US First Lady said last week that she would be publishing a sequel to her best-selling memoirs Becoming.

It would be released at about the same time as Harry’s upcoming, as-yet-untitled effort.

Industry insiders have theorized that the conflict may be the reason Penguin Random House, the publisher of both books, has yet to provide the release date for the royal’s reportedly “intimate and passionate” account, which was ghostwritten.

To avoid Mrs. Obama’s eagerly anticipated The Light We Carry, which will be released on November 15 in time for Thanksgiving and Christmas, some have suggested moving Harry’s book up to October.

According to a person in the know, it would also guarantee that the prince’s memoir would have a “clean shot” at topping the New York Times Bestseller List before being “completely overtaken” by his stablemate.

They responded, “I would absolutely account for a lot of the uncertainty.” Michelle Obama is a global phenomenon, and her latest book is predicted to rank at the top of all bestseller lists. Anything Harry did would be completely outdone by her. It can be a timing that is pretty challenging.

In July of last year, Penguin Random House revealed that Harry’s “literary memoir” would be published in late 2022.

It stated that he will give the “definitive narrative” of his life, from boyhood to the present, for the first time.

Buckingham Palace has long been concerned that Harry, 37, will use the memoir to make up more alleged injustices against his family and top courtiers.

The text is believed to have been completed by ghost writer JR Moehringer, and the book has already gone through all of the “legal formalities.”

However, nothing formal has been spoken since the initial statement, which has generated a lot of rumors in the publishing sector.

In contrast, Mrs. Obama’s announcement of a new book, which Penguin said would be published in 14 languages with an initial US print run of 2.75 million copies, last week generated tremendous global interest.

Over 17 million copies of Becoming have been sold worldwide.
