Eva Green has appeared at the High Court today to testify in the £4 million court dispute over a failed sci-fi film in which it is said she was responsible for its demise.

The 42-year-old Casino Royale actor was scheduled to star in A Patriot when filming was halted in October 2019.

She is now suing the production company White Lantern Films, asserting that she is entitled to her $1 million (£810,000) fee for the cancelled film.

White Lantern Films is fighting the case and filing a complaint against the French actress, stating that she made “unreasonable demands” and impeded the development of the film.

Ms. Green, who wore black sunglasses and a green velvet jacket this morning in the January sunshine of London, is due to take the stand this afternoon.

Eva Green arrives at the Rolls Building in London for her High Court lawsuit regarding payment for a cancelled film project.

A lawyer representing Ms. Green has accused the creators of a failed film of attempting to harm the performer’s reputation by portraying her as a diva.

The French actress who portrayed Vesper Lynd in the James Bond film ‘Casino Royale’ is suing ‘A Patriot’ producers for a $1 million pay she claims she is entitled.

On Monday, the third day of the trial in London, the French actress is scheduled to testify as a witness in the pending lawsuit.

At the beginning of the trial on Thursday, Max Mallin KC, representing White Lantern, asserted that Ms. Green was “hostile” toward a vision for the picture held by Jake Seal, one of the film’s executive producers.

The barrister stated that in communications with her agent and the film’s director, Ms. Green claimed that Mr. Seal intended to make a “cheap B movie,” describing him as “the devil” and “evil,” production manager Terry Bird as a “f****** moron,” and local crew members as “sh***ty peasants… from Hampshire.”

Ms. Green’s attorney, Edmund Cullen KC, stated that the legal battle was intended to make headlines and harm her reputation by portraying his client as a diva.

Bond girl Eva Green, featured in Casino Royale with Daniel Craig, is engaged in a legal struggle at the High Court over the cancellation of a £4 million film project.

Later, Mr. Cullen stated that the texts “must be viewed in context” of negotiations regarding the purchase of the script’s rights.

Mr. Cullen described the picture as a “passion project” and claimed the actress “bent over backwards” to complete it, but “the financial plan was doomed to fail.”

Ms. Green anticipated beginning her testimony in the afternoon. The proceeding continues.
