Blitzboks are humiliated by New Zealand’s victory in Sydney

On Sunday, New Zealand defeated the Blitzboks 38-0 in the Cup final to win the Sydney Sevens.

The Blitzboks and New Zealand took full advantage of the fact that series title contenders Fiji, the United States of America, Argentina, Samoa, France, and Australia were all eliminated over the weekend as they stormed into the final to ensure a podium finish.

As it turned out, the New Zealanders won the competition, while the South Africans had to settle for second place.

With the victory, New Zealand captured their first tournament championship of the World Rugby Sevens Series and extended their advantage over the pursuing group.

Saturday’s Pool B match between these two teams was a close contest, with the Blitzboks emerging victorious thanks to a late penalty. This time, there was a chasm of class and some luck separating the sides.

The injury suffered by Blitzboks captain Siviwe Soyizwapi prior to the start of the playoffs was a major blow for the team’s pursuit of the gold medal in this final.

The Blitzboks were no match for the New Zealand All Blacks in the final, which was a one-sided affair due to the All Blacks’ superior performance.

According to one pundit, New Zealand attacked the Blitzboks with “just too much, too fast, too often.”
