Before Roger Federer’s farewell match at the 02, a protester set himself on fire

Just before Roger Federer’s scheduled last match at the 02, a protester shockingly set himself on fire on a tennis court.

To protest the usage of private planes in the UK, the climate activist set fire to his right arm in the midst of the court.

The organisation End UK Private Jets, of which the 20-year-old protester Kai is a member, maintains that “carbon emissions in 2022 are genocide.”

Tennis great Roger Federer is scheduled to compete in his farewell match at the Laver Cup in London later today.

Tennis legends Andy Murray, Rafa Nadal, and Novak Djokovic all participated in a doubles match at the event yesterday on the same court as Roger Federer.

Tonight’s Laver Cup doubles final between Federer and Nadal and Americans Jack Sock and Frances Tiafoe is scheduled.

Stefanos Tsitsipas and Schwartzman were playing in a men’s singles match when the climate change protester disrupted the second set.

He set himself on fire, grunted as the flames licked his arm, but he didn’t seem to be hurt.

While sitting on the tennis court, he stroked his arm to put out the flames as security raced up to seize him and haul him away.

The guy has already featured in a number of films where he defends his staunch position against climate advocacy.

After the act, End UK Private Jets quickly uploaded a video on Twitter where Kai stated his motivation for setting his arm on fire.

He declared: “I’m going to the Laver Cup tennis competition in a few hours and light my arm on fire on the court.”

People will remark things like, “This is dreadful,” and they’ll be upset in the stadium. Anyone who hears about it will be severely traumatised, particularly if they have a history of self-harm.

“Anger over this,” I said. I believe it is appropriate to be angry about it since it is unfair for individuals to suffer.

“Humanity should be responsible for preventing that kind of s*** from occurring; nobody, particularly children and other vulnerable individuals, deserves to suffer.

If we truly believe that, we should act accordingly by putting an end to the climate emergency as soon as possible.

Because of the route we’re on, which includes societal breakdown, torture, famine, drought, war, and other such things, hundreds of millions of people are now experiencing terrible agony.
