Bailey Page makes $100,000 in just six weeks

Bailey Page, a 22-year-old Australian entrepreneur, made $100,000 in just six weeks by selling the country’s first cable-less phone charger.

He is the founder and director of Zip Zap Chargers, a portable cable-less charger for iPhones, AirPods, and iPads.

His interest in cable-less chargers started in 2020 after his phone ran out of battery while ordering an Uber ride with friends on the Sunshine Coast.

Unable to find what he was looking for online, he decided to make his own charger.

Bailey used all his savings, approximately $40,000, and worked with a manufacturer from e-commerce website Alibaba for nine months to develop his product.

He created a cable-less charger with a unique bracket designed to secure the charger to a device, with the Zip Zap website boasting its fast innovative technology and powerful battery power bank.

Users have to use a cable and wait approximately two hours to recharge the portable device before use.

After launching to friends and family in August 2021, Bailey started with 200 Zip Zap Chargers, which sold out in two weeks.

The following month, he was invited to promote his product on the morning show Sunrise, where he sold more than 1,500 units across Australia.

Within six weeks, he achieved his goal of selling 2,000 chargers in the year, making more than $100,000.

Despite being in his final year of a Property Economics and Urban Development Construction degree at Queensland University of Technology, Bailey was able to grow his business.

He advised budding entrepreneurs to “have a go” and put a plan on paper.

Zip Zap Chargers was the 2022 runner-up in Generation Innovation, a program challenging young entrepreneurs aged between 15 and 25 years old to start their own businesses.

To date, the business has sold around 6,500 chargers and hopes to expand into the international market.
