Award-winning actress Dawn Thandeka King is leaving “DiepCity.”

The award-winning actress Dawn Thandeka King has left the Black Brain-produced Mzansi Magic serial DiepCity.

King portrayed Thandiwe Jele, also known as MaShenge in the telenovela, who had a horrible conclusion.

King praised her on-screen family and Black Brain Productions for the opportunity to appear in the smash opera via social media.

“I bid farewell to another remarkable woman, Thandie Jele alias MaShenge. It has been an honor to serve as a vehicle for such a great character, and I hope that her narrative was able to teach others.”

In August 2021, King disclosed on social media an injury that had her disabled for months and detailed her recovery process.
