Australian mom wins $10,000 in Coles groceries on live TV

After receiving a $10,000 cash reward on live television, a delighted Australian mother couldn’t help but grin.

In the early hours of Friday, new mother Ellen, of Western Sydney, discovered a sizable check outside her house in Quakers Hill.

Sunrise host James Tobin, a group of delighted store staff, and a $10,000 worth of Coles goods were given to the new mother.

As soon as she opened the door, she was showered with colourful confetti and given a bunch of flowers, and she was unable to take the grin from her face.

After giving birth to her daughter Amelia, Ellen admitted to the Sunrise hosts that she was having trouble getting to the stores.

I have a four-week-old who is napping indoors, I’m on maternity leave, my husband is at work, and I’m very, really stressed. She said, “He’s a technician.

“I’m on maternity leave, so we just make one salary,” she said.

We asked the new mother which supermarket item she would use the most often.

She laughed as she guessed, “Nappies, she goes through so many nappies.”

Four Australians have the opportunity to win $10,000 worth of Coles goods as part of the Sunrise Knock Knock Competition.

The next competition will end on September 1 and a jury will choose the recipients of the award that will change their lives.
