The clubs have acknowledged that Aurelien Tchouameni has finalized his transfer from Monaco to Real Madrid.

Manchester United and Chelsea are among the clubs interested in signing the 22-year-old midfielder, who has established himself as one of Europe’s greatest young midfielders.

However, Liverpool and Real Madrid were left to compete for his signature, with RMC Sport reporting in late May that he had agreed personal terms with both clubs.

Tchouameni eventually chose Real Madrid over other European and Spanish clubs, and the club has officially confirmed that the France international has signed a six-year contract worth €80 million (£68 million).

‘Real Madrid ‘and AS Monaco have reached an agreement over the transfer of Aurélien Tchouaméni, who joins the club on a six-year deal.

‘Tchouaméni will be unveiled on Tuesday 14 June at Real Madrid City at 12:00 (CET) following his medical.

‘Tchouaméni will then be unveiled to the media.’

After failing to entice Kylian Mbappe to the Santiago Bernabeu, Real turned their attention to Tchouameni, with the forward rejecting their offer and extending his contract with Paris Saint-Germain in a remarkable U-turn.

Liverpool, on the other hand, is still looking for a new midfielder this summer. Gavi’s attempts to entice him away from Barcelona appear to have failed, as the 17-year-old is ready to sign a new contract at the Camp Nou.

The Reds have also been linked with PSV Eindhoven midfielder Ibrahim Sangare, as well as Leeds United midfielder Kalvin Phillips.
