It has been approved to build 70 additional dwellings close to Cross Hands, Carmarthenshire.
The project represents the second stage of the residential community of Parc Emlyn off Norton Road in Penygroes.
39 three-bedroom homes, 18 two-bedroom homes, five four-bedroom homes, and eight two-bedroom apartments are all included in the authorized designs.
The plot is a portion of a sizable brownfield area that was formerly the site of a brickworks and colliery; the brickworks shut down more than 20 years ago.
According to the proposals, there will be 131 parking places, and a road off Norton Road will be constructed as part of the new estate, providing access to the majority of the dwellings.

In addition to the requirement that a landscape, ecological, and environmental management plan be approved before work begins, Carmarthenshire Council has placed 24 additional planning requirements.
Parc Emlyn Developments, the applicant, is also required to contribute financially to the purchase of a “open mosaic habitat” area to replace the one that will be lost, as well as another donation for the Caeau Mynydd Mawr special area of conservation.
Before the 35th house is occupied, phase two’s seven affordable homes must also be finished.
Two residents of the estate’s first phase expressed concern about access being made via Norton route rather than a nearby new economic link route.
One of them expressed his confusion about “the purpose of the relief road and the unnecessary environmental impact on the village” in an email to the planning division.
A Norton Road neighbor expressed worry that the new residences would raise the risk of surface water flooding.
