Appointment of General Visitors to the Court of Protection

The Office of the Public Guardian (OPG) has appointed 22 new Court of Protection General Visitors and reappointed six more.
General visitors are public appointees that assist OPG in the monitoring of court-appointed deputies. In addition, they play a crucial part in OPG investigations by conducting mental capacity evaluations.
The appointments received ministerial approval, and the following list of new appointees began their 10-year terms in April 2022:

These are statutory appointments under section 61 of the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and have been made in line with the Cabinet Office Governance Code on Public Appointments.
