Application for HND Admission at the Maritime Academy of Nigeria (MAN)


The Maritime Academy of Nigeria (MAN), Oron, is presently accepting applications for admission to its Higher National Diploma (HND) Programs for the academic session 2022/2023. Below are the courses, requirements, and instructions for obtaining a Maritime Academy HND form.

The Management of the Maritime Academy of Nigeria thus welcomes appropriate and qualified candidates for admission into the Academy’s different Higher National Diploma (HND) Programmes for the 2022/2023 Academic Session.

Maritime Academy of Nigeria (MAN) HND Programs and Timeframe

Higher National Diploma (HND) curricula are comprised of four (4) semesters and last two (2) years. The subsequent programs are available:

Marine Sciences and Engineering
Maritime Transport and Business Management HND Admission Requirements for the Maritime Academy of Nigeria (MAN)

Applicants to the Academy are required to have a working and accessible electronic mail (E-mail) address and mobile phone.

A. Marine Science

a. Applicants must possess a Senior Secondary School Diploma or its equivalent, with a minimum of FIVE CREDIT passes in the required subjects.
– Mathematics – English Language, – Physics – Geography, – and any other science-related topics achieved in NO MORE THAN TWO SITTINGS.

b. Applicants must hold a National Diploma Certificate in Nautical Science with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.50 (Low Credit) from the Maritime Academy of Nigeria or any accredited institution designated by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB). Additionally, applicants must have a JAMB Registration number.

c. Applicants Must show documentation of a minimum of one year of post-ND Industrial Training or one year of relevant job experience in a suitable organization.

d. Candidates with a PASS at the National Diploma level from the Maritime Academy of Nigeria or another accredited institution must have completed a minimum of two years of Post-ND Industrial Training with evidence or must have acquired a minimum of two years of cognate work experience with a relevant organization.

B. Marine Engineering

a. Applicants must possess a Senior Secondary School Certificate or its equivalent with a minimum of FIVE CREDIT passes in subjects including – Mathematics – English Language, – Physics, – Chemistry, – and any other related Science subjects earned in NO MORE THAN TWO SITTINGS.

b. Applicants must hold a National Diploma Certificate in Marine Engineering with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.50 (Lower Credit) from the Maritime Academy of Nigeria or any accredited institution designated by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB). Additionally, applicants must have a JAMB Registration number.

c. Applicants Must show documentation of a minimum of one year of post-ND Industrial Training or one year of relevant job experience in a suitable organization.

d. Candidates with a PASS at the National Diploma level from the Maritime Academy of Nigeria or another accredited institution must have completed a minimum of two years of Post-ND Industrial Training with evidence or must have acquired a minimum of two years of cognate work experience with a relevant organization.

C. Marine Transport and Business Administration

a. Applicants must possess a Senior Secondary School Certificate or its equivalent with a minimum of FIVE CREDIT passes in the following subjects: – Mathematics, – English Language, – Economics, – and any two of Commerce, Government, Financial Accounting, and Business Management obtained in NO MORE THAN TWO SITTINGS.

b. Applicants must hold a National Diploma Certificate in Maritime Transport and Business Studies with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.50 (Lower Credit) from the Maritime Academy of Nigeria or any authorized institution designated by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB). Additionally, applicants must have a JAMB Registration number

c. Applicants Must have completed a minimum of one year of post-ND Industrial Training with supporting documentation or earned a minimum of one year of relevant job experience in an enterprise.

d. Applicants with a PASS at the National Diploma level from the Maritime Academy of Nigeria or another approved school must have completed a minimum of two years of post-ND industrial training or earned a minimum of two years of relevant job experience.

ACADEMY TRANSCRIPT Applicants from other approved schools must submit their academic transcripts to the Academic Registrar before the application site closes, with a copy sent to admission@maritimeacademy.gov.ng.

How to Fill Out the Maritime Academy of Nigeria (MAN) HND Application

The registration period will run from Monday, July 11, 2022 through Friday, September 2, 2022.

Where to Apply

Fee for Registration: N20,000.00

Candidates who are qualified should visit www.maritimeacademy.gov.ng and complete the following steps:

Access the Admission – HND/ND Registration Portal by clicking the link
Create a Profile
Generate and Print the Invoice
Pay with the eTranzact Payment Platform at any of the banks mentioned on the portal, or pay online.
Return to the Academy’s Registration Form on the Portal.
The Applicant Medical Examination Form (Form M) must be downloaded from the application webpage. This form must be properly filled out and signed before it can be uploaded to the site.

Candidates must submit to the following medical examinations at any government hospital and upload the results to the application website.

PCV VDRL HBV HIV1/2 FASTING BLOOD SUGAR (FBS)
PT (Pregnancy Test for Females)
URINALYSIS GENOTYPE BLOOD GROUP

The physical examination must be performed between 11 July 2022 and 26 August 2022.

When invited for Screening, the uploaded test result will be subject to additional verification.

ADVISORY:

Before applying, any prospective cadets who owe money to the Academy are obliged to repay the debt.
Candidates with incomplete registrations will be dismissed automatically.
Only candidates who meet the aforementioned minimum requirements will be invited for screening.
