Angela Yee hopes to have Lauryn Hill on her new radio show, “Way Up With Yee,” which premieres on January 17.
She tells Page Six, “I would love for her to be a guest because she doesn’t do interviews and because I’ve met her before — we went to high school together.”
Yee and Hill both attended Columbia High School after Yee’s family moved to South Orange, New Jersey, when she was a teenager. She attended Poly Prep in Brooklyn earlier.
She was a close friend of mine back then, but we’ve never had the opportunity to sit down… I simply believe that she has got longevity in this game,” the television professional explained.
Yee stated in August that she would be quitting “The Breakfast Club” to start her own iHeartRadio program.
In December, she finished her 13-year tenure at 105.1. The show has won her and her co-hosts Charlemagne Tha God and DJ Envy a seat in the Radio Hall of Fame.
The “Lip Service Podcast” presenter continues, “People don’t realize she was the captain of the cheerleading team in high school. I believe that a chat with Lauryn would be really entertaining, as she was usually bubbly.
Yee is the proprietor of multiple companies, including Coffee Uplifts People (CUP), Juices For Life, and Private Label haircare.
The nationwide premiere of her new show occurs on January 30 after its New York debut.
