The 5th season of Sakthi Masala Homepreneur Awards 2022 (‘Suyasakthi Virudhugal’), a platform providing recognition for women engaged in home-based ventures in the country, has been launched by Anbarasan, the Hon’ble Minister for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MS & ME) of the Tamil Nadu Government.

The 5th season of the ‘Sakthi Masala Homepreneur Awards 2022′ will be launched at ChennaiMs by Anbarasan, Minister for MSME, Government of Tamil Nadu. Mr. Sivarajah Ramanathan, Mission Director and CEO, Tamil Nadu Startup and Innovation Mission (TANSIM), and R Radikaa Sarathkumar, Actress, Producer; Chairperson & Managing Director, Radaan Mediaworks (I) Ltd., were the guests of honor at the launch ceremony.
Eminent figures from industry, academia, government, and social service organizations were among those who attended the event.
Sakthi Masala Homepreneur Awards (Suyasakthi Viruthugal) aims to provide a platform for women who have chosen to pursue their passion through entrepreneurship from home to be recognized and celebrated.
Any woman who earns money from home is eligible to apply for the award in one of the following categories: Agriculture Healthcare Retailing at home Culture and the Arts Fitness & Sports Food and Drink Home-based digital entrepreneur Beauty & Prosperity Literature & Education Entertainment & Media Differently Abled & Social Welfare Professionals who work from home Technology Outside Tamil Nadu (NRI) Through the Sakthi Masala Homepreneur Awards Student edition, in collaboration with YI – Young Indians, the current edition of the Sakthi Masala Homepreneur Awards is also providing college going girls with a platform to share their entrepreneurial ideas and plans to start, execute, and scale up their dream ventures. This program will honor the students’ most innovative ideas.
Any female or female college student is eligible to apply.
The deadline for submitting nominations for the Homepreneur Award and registering for the student edition is July 2, 2022.

This year, the Sakthi Masala Homepreneur Awards have partnered with StartupTN (TANSIM), a government of Tamil Nadu initiative aimed at cultivating a beneficial entrepreneurial ecosystem in the state.
StartupTN will offer a free acceleration program to a minimum of 20 and a maximum of 30 eligible home-based entrepreneurs who have been selected based on StartupTN’s qualifying criteria and policies, and will help them turn into startup entrepreneurs.
StartupTN would consider awarding a grant of up to Rs. 10 lakh to each of the potential businesses if the startup meets all of StartupTN’s eligibility criteria.

The Sakthi Masala Homepreneur Awards are unique in that they honor home-based businesswomen rather than corporate superstars.
The award was established in 2017, and there have been four seasons since then. The first three ceremonies were held in Chennai, with the fourth going digital. The award ceremony in 2022 is expected to grow into a national event.
By 2025, Brand Avatar hopes to make the event an international event.

The selection procedure
From June 7th until July 2nd, 2022, applications will be accepted.
These applications will be shortlisted, and the top candidates will be examined by the distinguished jury during the jury interview on July 23 and 24, 2022.
Shortlisting nominated women will be based on the following criteria: distinctiveness of the business, social effect, business obstacles, scalability, family impact, and progress & revenue.
The award will be handed to the winners in each category at a magnificent ceremony on August 28, 2022 in Chennai.
