Ana de Armas admits Marilyn Monroe haunted her on ‘Blonde’

Ana de Armas of “Blonde” stated that the set was haunted by Marilyn Monroe.
She told Reuters that she felt the spirit of the Hollywood actress on set and believed she was “glad.”
De Armas stated that if the ghost didn’t like something, she would “throw it off the wall.”
Something is being loaded.

Ana de Armas stated that she sensed Marilyn Monroe’s ghost while filming the upcoming Netflix biopic “Blonde.”

In the new film, which premiered on Thursday at the Venice Film Festival, de Armas portrays the Hollywood legend.

The 34-year-old actress told reporters at the film’s premiere that she sensed the presence of Marilyn Monroe on set, according to Reuters.

De Armas stated, “I genuinely think that she was very close to us and with us.” We all felt it.

Later, de Armas elaborated, “She was all I could think about, all I could dream about, all I could talk about, she was with me, and it was beautiful.”

Last year, de Armas told The Sunday Times of London that it took a long time to replicate Marilyn Monroe’s famously effervescent voice for the film.

“I tried!” de Armas said. “It only took me nine months of dialect coaching, practice, and a few [automatic dialogue replacement] sessions. It was a grueling ordeal that left my brain fried.”

The film’s director, Andrew Dominik, told reporters at the Venice Film Festival that he was certain de Armas could play the part despite her heavy Spanish accent after watching her in the 2015 film “Knock Knock.”

According to Reuters, he stated, “I knew it was her the moment I saw her on television. It was a little like falling in love at first sight; when the perfect person walks through the door, you know it.”

Variety reports that de Armas was in tears during the 14-minute standing ovation that followed the premiere of “Blonde” at Venice.

The launch of “Blonde” on Netflix is on September 28.
