Ryan Murphy’s “American Horror Story” has returned with a whole new season, and it’s already shaping up to be an exciting new chapter in the long-running anthology series.
The tenth season, titled “Double Feature,” included two condensed stories with five episodes each, but the eleventh season will focus on a single storyline with an exciting new cast.
The season’s title, “American Horror Story: New York City,” at least discloses where the story takes place, but FX has understandably kept most plot elements under wraps for the time being. Although some of the promotional materials provide fans with a taste of what they might expect on Wednesday.
The first teaser identifies the most recent chapter as the “deadliest year” and a “season unlike any other.”
The images depict revelers in a nightclub, with an emphasis on fetish apparel, spiky skulls, chains, and a filthy subway vehicle. All of this suggests that the series will delve into the darker underside of New York.
The plot of the new episodes is only hinted at in the season’s synopsis: “Mysterious murders and disappearances increase throughout the city, while a doctor discovers a terrifying discovery and a local reporter becomes tomorrow’s headline.”
Obviously, it is not yet known who or what is responsible for the deaths and disappearances, nor is it known whether the cause is supernatural. In the previous ten seasons, fans have encountered aliens, demons, ghosts, and monsters, so this new malicious entity might be anything.
Murphy has once again assembled an incredible roster of performers for his latest chapter, so whatever it is, it has a lot of skill to feed upon.
Beginning with “Murder House” and “Asylum” alum Zachary Quinto as Sam, the “American Horror Story” Twitter account announced the primary cast with a series of dark character posters. A couple of whips are hung on the wall, and he has one draped over his face, so it is evident that he is fascinated by them.

Billie Lourd will reprise her role as Hannah in the eleventh season. Recently, in an interview with Digital Spy, the actor praised the showrunner highly. “I will always do anything Ryan Murphy asks of me because he is my hero,” she declared.
Despite the fact that Lourd provided no new information about her character when discussing the many roles she has played in the series. She stated, “I’ve gotten to be a witch, an aerobics instructor, and we’ll see what I am maybe this season. I love playing dramatic characters, but getting to do comedy is also my jam. I enjoy it all.”

Next is “Teen Wolf” and “The Batman” actor Charlie Carver, who is starring into a mirror as Adam in “The Batman” and “Teen Wolf.” It’s an intriguing way to introduce his character, despite his appearance of innocence. Alter-ego? Dual character? Anything is conceivable.
