Alice Evans claims that her estranged husband, Ioan Gruffudd, wants her to ‘go to jail’ for failing to show up for her most recent court session.
Since their breakup last year, the former couple has been at odds, with the Liar actor moving on with new girlified, Bianca Wallace.
He obtained a restraining order against his former partner, with whom he has children Ella and Elsie, earlier this year, claiming that she had bombarded him with messages and verbal threats.
On Tuesday, the mother of two took to social media to unleash a lengthy rage at her ex, saying that he was successful in having the domestic violence restraining order (DVRO) against her extended.
‘My husband and his girlfriend are so terrified of me they want me to go to JAIL for not attending court today,’ she posted on Instagram alongside a screenshot that appeared to show an email from Ioan in August, 2020, in which he declared that he ‘loved her to bits.’
‘But when do I get to say that there was NO abusive marriage for four years? In fact all the time he was with Bianca he was sending me lovely notes like this – the one he sent just before his plane took off.
‘The US judicial system is corrupt. Yes, he has Brad Pitt’s lawyer. But is he paying her?
‘Meanwhile I faithfully paid mine until he told me that screaming at him for leaving was worse than leaving. Is it?’
When asked if she was ‘keeping her head above water’, she replied: ‘I don’t know really – I just now that … the laws are unjust and that I haven’t done anything wrong…. [sic].
‘My ex-lawyer told me I would get a permanent DVRO which is disgusting when you think of all the women/men who have ACTUALLY been violated…
‘I’m just ind of losing it because what else can they do to me? The court option left me with NOTHING! No spousal support and no reimbursement for the fact he’d wasted all our savings on lawyers fees. AND I would have 18 moths PRO. I might aswell use twitter [sic].’
Alice told another follower that she had been ‘frightened of going to jail’ for more than six months and had had enough.
In 2000, they met on the set of 102 Dalmatians and married seven years later.
When Ioan filed for divorce in March 2021, they had been married for 13 years and had two children together.
After a few months, he made his relationship with Bianca public.
At the start of this year, Ioan filed an initial restraining order against Alice, which included over 100 documents allegedly containing communications from his ex accusing him of drug usage, threatening to ‘call every tabloid in the UK,’ and hurling insults at him and fiancée Bianca Wallace.
He further claimed Alice threatened to tell the world that he had assaulted her and that she would ‘do to me what Amber Heard did to Johnny Depp’ in his court declaration.
All of the grounds in the restraining order application were denied by Alice, who feels he is trying ‘to get some type of edge over me in our divorce procedures.’
Later, it was revealed that she had filed for custody of their daughters, as well as visitation rights for Ioan.
