Alan Rickman had to “push the bile back down” over “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2” producers

Alan Rickman has had a tremendously successful career, starring in films such as “Truly, Madly, Deeply,” “Die Hard,” and “Love Actually,” but he is most known for his role as Professor Severus Snape in the “Harry Potter” series. As the hostile potions master, the actor appears in all eight films before being rehabilitated in the last installment.

In his recently published diaries, “Madly, Deeply,” the actor revealed that working on the Wizarding World films was not always a fairytale. Rickman not only considered leaving the franchise, but he also had harsh words for leading lady Emma Watson and her portrayal of Hermione Granger in the early flicks.

Before filming of “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2” commenced, the actor also battled with the producers. In August of 2009, he penned: “When three Davids [producers Heyman, Yates, and Barron] enter my trailer, I must force the bile back down. Not very effectively.”

Rickman stated that he was not impressed with the producers’ approach to production “I attempt to channel the inarticulacy into words such as “process” and “story” in the hopes that we might find a way ahead. Even at this early stage, only time will tell.”

Rickman subsequently remembered a chat he had with Yates just weeks before filming began, after discovering a flaw in Snape’s climactic showdown with Lord Voldemort (Ralph Fiennes).

He said: “Mr. David Yates Having unerringly identified a major mistake in the Snape/Voldemort climactic battle and having lost the edit button in HP chats, I did not beat about the bush when pointing it out.”

The actor wrote about his conversation with Yates and claimed that the director simply pretended to consider his ideas.

“However, David Y. does just what he desires. There is a degree of receptivity, but also great intransigence. A man who, it would appear, nods compassionately and goes nowhere unplanned “he added.

It is unclear what the issue with Snape’s final scene was, but its brutality makes it one of the most shocking sequences in the saga. Voldemort kills Snape with his snake, Nagini, since he believes he is the Elder Wand’s master. Fans are well aware that Tom Felton’s Draco Malfoy disarmed Dumbledore (Michael Gambon).

Recently, Felton authored a memoir about his time working on the “Harry Potter” franchise, which includes some amusing incidents, such as the time he confused co-star Gary Oldman for a janitor.
