…Researched and contributed by Solomon Thomas.

Former jockey and current race planner for top Irish trainer Henry de Bromhead, Robbie Power, has given his expert insight into the chances of the de Bromhead yard’s horses in the upcoming Grand National at Aintree.

Speaking exclusively to Daily Star Sport, Power spoke about the prospects of two horses in particular: Ain’t That A Shame and Gabbys Cross.

Ain’t That A Shame Tipped as Favourite

Ain’t That A Shame has been backed into 8/1 favouritism with Boylesports and will be ridden by top jockey Rachael Blackmore.

Power believes that the horse has a “fantastic chance” due to its experience and size, and the fact that it has performed well in previous races.

Gabbys Cross Also a Contender

Gabbys Cross is another horse from the de Bromhead yard that Power believes has a chance in the Grand National. While Gabbys Cross may not be the best jumper, Power suggests that Aintree’s fences could wake him up and sharpen his mind.

Gabbys Cross has been running well in Handicaps, and if he takes to Aintree, he could have a decent chance.

Competition is Fierce

Despite Ain’t That A Shame being a popular pick among punters, Power acknowledges that the competition will be fierce. Delta Work is the next best at 9/1, with Ultima winner Corach Rambler at 10/1 with Boylesports.

Overall, Power’s insights into the de Bromhead yard’s horses provide an interesting perspective for those looking to place bets on the Grand National.

While Ain’t That A Shame and Gabbys Cross may be strong contenders, it is important to consider the competition and all factors that may impact each horse’s performance.
