After her vehicle breaks down, five dogs kill a postal courier

A postal carrier for the U.S. Postal Service was tragically attacked by five dogs when her vehicle broke down on a road in North Florida, according to authorities.

Col. Joseph Wells of the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office said during a press conference on Tuesday that Pamela Jane Rock, 61, passed away on Monday evening at a hospital.

According to sheriff’s authorities, they arrived to the Interlachen Lake Estates incident on Sunday afternoon and saw the lady lying on the ground. At a nearby house, they also discovered the dogs enclosed in a fence.

Five canines were allegedly assaulting the victim when a neighbouring neighbour heard her scream for aid. According to the story, many neighbours attempted to remove the dogs from the lady, and one blasted a revolver into the air to frighten the animals away.

The lady was heavily bleeding when deputies began administering first aid to her. Until a rescue team came and transported the lady to a hospital, they applied tourniquets, according to authorities. After that, the lady was taken to a trauma facility in Gainesville.

The canines were taken up by the county’s animal control division.

Since there is an ongoing investigation and the 911 call isn’t being disclosed, the state prosecutors’ office has seized over, according to WJAX-TV. According to the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office, the dogs’ owner is cooperative.

According to Col. Wells, “There is a particular Florida legislation that deals with someone who doesn’t use prudence when it comes to an animal that they knew or should have known could’ve presented a hazard.”
