After getting caught in a car wash line, a senior was issued a £100 parking ticket.

Despite the fact that Colleen Russell, 69, never actually got out of her car while she was there, Euro Car Parks issued her a parking fine.

On June 25, a retiree travelled by automobile to Sutton Court Service Station in Surrey to utilize its car wash, but when she arrived, she encountered a 30-minute line.

According to her, the car park’s operators, Euro Car Parks, have cameras positioned to keep an eye on the forecourt and will fine anyone who remains there longer than 30 minutes without a ticket.

On busy days, however, the technology does not account for cars utilizing the car wash.

Colleen received a £100 parking ticket in the mail from Euro Car Parks a week after her visit.

I have been going there for more than 10 years, and this has never happened before, said Ms. Russell, a retired caregiver from Sutton, Surrey.

I was only waiting in line for the vehicle wash; I didn’t go in for gas or to park.

I had to wait till my turn to use the facility because there were four cars in line.

“I want to know if those cars received fines as well because they were also in line with me.

“I just think it’s so unfair, especially since I’m a retiree,” the speaker said.

The decision has been appealed by Ms. Russell.
