Actor Joshua Jackson has revealed that his wife, Jodie Turner-Smith, enjoys watching him perform sex scenes with Liz Cundy in Fatal Attraction.

Jackson said that his wife is “like a voyeur” and “kind of enjoys” the sex scenes.

The star said the scenes were important to “further the narrative”, adding that it is crucial for the audience to “believe that these people want to f*** each other”.

The couple met in 2018 and married in 2019, and Turner-Smith proposed during a holiday in Nicaragua.

Jackson is set to play a cheating husband in the television adaptation of Fatal Attraction, co-starring Lizzy Caplan.

Speaking to The Sunday Times, Jackson said he believes that an affair can be forgiven, but that “massive repair” is necessary.

He added that affairs are “about the person who has transgressed” and that the experience involves “a deeper violation”.

Jackson went on to say that his readiness for a committed relationship was a matter of age and timing, and that if he had met Turner-Smith five years earlier, they would likely have had a “torrid affair”.

Jackson’s comments have sparked discussions on social media about voyeurism and the role of sex scenes in television and cinema.

Some Twitter users have criticised the idea that a partner can watch their significant other’s sex scenes without jealousy or discomfort, while others have argued that Jackson’s statement reflects the changing attitudes towards sexuality and relationships in contemporary culture.

Some have also commented on the difficulties of filming sex scenes, and the emotional and professional challenges faced by actors who must navigate such intimate performances.
