Acne Sufferer Creates Glove

Chloe Eggerton, a 22-year-old woman from Telford, Shrops, was nicknamed “pizza face” by school bullies because of her acne.

She developed acne when she was aged ten, and during secondary school, her spots spread across her back and neck.

This resulted in cruel classmates calling her “pizza face.” One of her main issues growing up was how to remove make-up from her face without aggravating her acne with oils or remover solutions.

After discussing the problem with her sister Demi, 25, she created a ‘magic’ glove that can be used to remove mascara with just water.

Chloe used social media demonstrations to promote the glove which she sells online from her home.

During her teenage years, Chloe had numerous trips to the doctor and took controversial anti-acne drug Roaccutane. She is now virtually acne free, all for the odd spot now and again.

Chloe said her negative experience inspired her to look for a solution to help other acne sufferers cope with removing make-up.

She designed a refusable microfibre glove, which can be used by people with or without acne, and last July launched the product under her company name Flossy Tools.

Chloe launched Flossy Tools on TikTok and Instagram in July last month and in the last eight months has sold over 500 gloves which cost £6.99 each.

The product is reusable and washable, and the thumb feature on the glove is there to get into all the difficult parts of the skin to cleverly remove all make-up on the face.

Chloe said, “Whilst I am not making a profit yet and still working full time, I am reinvesting all the money back into the business so we can one day expand.

We are moving in the right direction to make a profit and believe the business will by the end of the year.”

Flossy Tools has only been in business for eight months, but they are slowly growing their following on social media, and the product has only received positive reviews.
