The post went on to discuss the ‘very emotional’ nature of the game, noting that the primary concern at these games is the safety of children.

Although we cannot control the actions/emotions of others, we accept responsibility for our own behavior at yesterday’s event, including the part it played and how it was displayed.

‘Despite the behavior displayed by the other side, there was no justification for its escalation to that degree or manner.

‘We really regret the impact this has had on everyone within and beyond our business.

“We applaud all of our devoted parents who tirelessly ride for us.

We wish to extend our sincere apologies to the family and, in particular, to the young man.

Police in Houston are investigating the incident.
