A man is set to face charges of narcotics transportation

On Monday, the suspect, who is forty years old and is charged with transporting drugs, is scheduled to make an appearance before the Kuilsriver Magistrate’s Court in the Western Cape.

This comes as a result of his arrest for the transportation of narcotics that took place on Thursday as part of a combined operation involving the Hawks’ South African Narcotics Enforcement Bureau (SANEB), as well as members of Crime Intelligence’s Counter Narcotics and Gangs unit.

On Thursday, the police got information about a silver Volkswagen Polo that was smuggling narcotics in the Northpine neighborhood of Brackenfell, according to a spokeswoman for the Brackenfell police department named Lieutenant Colonel Philani Nkwalase.

“The car was seen when it was traveling down Ponderosa Way in Northpine, where surveillance was taking place. Following the search, Tik with an estimated worth of R240,000 as well as an unknown quantity of cash were taken into custody for further investigation,” Mkwalase noted.
