A video of a young child pole dancing on top of a scantily clothed lady has caused internet backlash against a North Carolina pride celebration.

A little kid wearing a baseball cap is seen in the video, which was uploaded online by the Libs of Tik Tok Twitter account on Thursday, straddling a lady wearing a strappy thong and a bikini top as an adult watches.

The video then switches to another lady doing the twerk in the middle of the street as a third woman smacks her butt cheeks.

Other footage from the Charlotte Pride event showed youngsters clapping and watching some of the passing floats, one of which included a female dancing in a rainbow-colored bikini.

Another video showed a dancer on a parade float twerking for the audience as another lady pretended to kiss her leg. The dancer also had dollar notes protruding from her underwear.

The weekend event included a newly extended Youth and Family Zone that offered new games, activities, and opportunities for all families, including all children and youth under the age of 20. This was done as part of the event’s marketing strategy to appeal to families.

According to the Libs of Tik Tok account, one of the activities included teaching kids how to pole dance.

However, several Twitter users criticised the incident and the parents of the little child who was shown spinning around the pole in the video.

‘If you care more about displaying your wokeness than what is best for your child, you really are a piece of s***,’ claimed one guy, Texas-based CEO Jason Howerton.

Matt Rinaldi, a former state representative from Texas, seemed to advocate sending those responsible for the incident “straight to prison.”

Over the weekend, the Charlotte Pride festival resumed its live events for the first time since the COVID outbreak halted them for two years.

The procession on Sunday included more than 40 floats, 10,000 marchers, and many more spectators.

Later, festival organisers revealed that this year’s event smashed their attendance record with 275,000 attendees for the parade and festival.

The parade’s previous attendance record of 200,000 was last broken in 2019, but this year, according to FOX 46, more individuals showed out to demonstrate their pride.

The station quoted George Meeks as saying, “I believe it’s absolutely a significant period in history right now, and I think that it’s vital for everyone to demonstrate that this is how people live and that it’s OK to be who you are.”

You can definitely see that Charlotte has a strong feeling of local community, which is fantastic. It truly felt like everyone was out for one other and celebrating everyone, said Jeremy Hale, who travelled all the way from Sydney, Australia for the event.
