Austria’s eastern side of the Alps saw a hot air balloon crash on Saturday, injuring nine passengers.

Sonja Kellner of the Lower Austrian Red Cross told the APA that two of the passengers sustained life-threatening injuries in the accident in the Bucklige Welt region, which is known for its hilly terrain.

They were discovered alongside two other passengers with minor injuries at Untereck, while five more passengers with minor injuries were discovered approximately 5 kilometers (3 miles) away near Stang.

The cause of the accident was unknown.
