On a secluded beach in Crete, a British tourist was detained on suspicion of raping his own daughter when she was inebriated.

On the night of the event, the guy, 70, was allegedly drinking with his daughter, in her twenties, in a tavern in Malia, Greece.

According to police, he was spotted making obscene gestures to her, slapping her in the face, and following her out into the street while dressed in white.

The woman reported the incident, saying she had no recollection of anything save that the attacker was dressed entirely in white.

Medical examiners told the Greek newspaper Neakriti that the woman suffered rape-like injuries.

She was also ‘covered’ in injuries that could have been caused by stones and branches on the beach, according to them.

Samples of DNA have been collected.

On Saturday, the father was handcuffed and taken before magistrates, where he was charged with felony rape, sexual abuse, and domestic violence offenses. He denies all of the claims.

The stunned victim is claimed to have told authorities that the attack could not have been carried out by her father.

He will be held in custody until at least tomorrow, with the possibility of a reduced sentence under Greek law if he admits guilt and publicly apologizes.
