Just days after the murder of fashion model Jeremy Ruehlemann, his father went out about his son’s struggle with addiction.
Saturday, the 27-year-old was discovered lifeless at the apartment of a friend in midtown Manhattan.
His father, Achim Ruehlemann, told Daily Mail that he believes his son died from an accidental drug overdose following a number of years of prescription medication addiction.
Achim Ruehlemann informed the newspaper that Jeremy was unable to quit using the opioid Percocet despite undergoing rehabilitation and attempting to wean himself off prescription drugs.
Evidently, he was unsuccessful.
The distraught 59-year-old man added that they are not “100% certain exactly what happened to his son.” He stated that they are awaiting the toxicological test results.

Ruehlemann stated, “There was no intention to end his life; this was an accident.” “Clearly, he struggled with drug addiction, but he was quite happy. He valued living. He was a really vivacious, kind, and generous individual.
Regarding the sincere condolences his son received on social media from the fashion industry, Achim Ruehlemann stated, “I don’t think anyone could say anything terrible about him. It is merely a tragedy.”

Days before his murder, Ruehlemann, who was represented by Soul Artist Management, uploaded a behind-the-scenes photo from a Tommy Hilfiger photoshoot on Instagram.
On Sunday, Siriano posted a heartfelt homage to Jeremy Ruehlemann on Instagram.
The “Project Runaway” star said, “I have never posted anything like this before, but losing a friend with such a beautiful soul is extremely difficult.” This is for Jeremy, the most lovely man who provided unconditional love to everyone he encountered.
Siriano described the model as one of his “muses” and sent his love to his grieving family and friends.
