80-year-old woman asked transgender employee to leave women’s locker room

A transgender employee was asked to leave the women’s locker area by an 80-year-old lady.

Julie Jaman was showering at the Mountain View pool in Port Townsend, Washington, when she saw Clementine Adams in the changing room.

Jaman ‘heard a guy’ and challenged him.

Jaman witnessed a guy in a woman’s swimming suit watching four or five females use the bathroom.

He stated it was none of my concern when I questioned whether he had a penis. I said, “Get out immediately!”

Jaman alerted another pool employee, but YMCA aquatics manager Rowen DeLuna told her, ‘You’re discriminatory and you can’t use the pool.’ I’ll contact cops.

DeLuna phoned police and was informed she was “barred from the pool forever.”

Jaman said she didn’t ask him what was wrong or whether he was alright. ‘It’s like she was ready to attack. It was incredible.

Jaman’reacted emotionally to a foreign gentleman in the washroom among young girls,’ according to a police complaint.

Jaman was’screaming’ at a staffer and’refusing to leave’ the locker area, according to police notes.

Jaman, a 35-year pool member, says she has a “wonderful connection with swimmers.”

But facility managers said Jaman’s banning is due to a number of incidences when she ‘violated the institution’s code of conduct,’ not just this one.

Julie Jaman was permanently banned from the Mountain View Pool for regularly breaching the YMCA’s Code of Conduct, which includes using rude, abusive, harassing, or obscene behaviour or gestures against employees or others.

We won’t allow bigotry, hate, or discrimination that oppresses others. We’ll secure equality and human dignity for everyone, said a statement.

Jaman claimed she didn’t feel comfortable bathing with a guy. She thinks the institution should notify that trans persons may use the changing rooms.

CEO Wendy Bart explained why she banned Jaman.

She said I was racist and violating YMCA beliefs. I assured her I respect all people and have no ideology.

Clementine Adams, who is a trans worker at the YMCA pool is saving up for two procedures: Feminizing Laryngoplasty (vocal surgery) and Sexual Reassignment Surgery (often called bottom surgery)

Jaman assured her there were no warning indications for women. ‘I was told Pride posters were everywhere and that was enough to prepare ladies.

Jaman said, ‘That’s wonderful, but they don’t give options for women who don’t undress in front of males.’

Our pool is ancient. One for males, one for women.’

Bart alleges Jaman told Adams, who has yet to have gender reassignment surgery, ‘you’re going to thrust your f***ing penis in those young ladies.’ Jaman denies this.

She told The Distance, “I’m 80 and I don’t speak like that.”

Jaman’s fans and trans activists protested outside the pool after she was barred.

Adams needs surgery to ‘feel like myself’

I need help financing feminising laryngoplasty and sexual transition surgery (often called bottom surgery). I don’t have a large list of operations I wish to explore right now.

I need these two surgeries, particularly voice surgery, to feel like myself,’ she wrote.

It takes all my willpower to avoid the anger and accusations directed at me.

I don’t see an end in sight. It’s getting worse every day. She hopes she’s incorrect.
