66-year-old pedestrian dies in a car accident in Caerphilly borough

A fatal road accident occurred on Tuesday evening at around 5.15pm on the road coming off Ty Du Road in Nelson, Caerphilly borough.

The incident involved a car and a pedestrian, resulting in the death of a 66-year-old man.

Emergency services, including police, Welsh Ambulance Service, Welsh Air Ambulance, and South Wales Fire and Rescue Service, were immediately called to the scene.

Despite the efforts of paramedics, the pedestrian died at the scene.

The victim’s next of kin have been informed and are receiving support from specialist officers.

Gwent Police has launched an appeal for information to help with their investigation.

The police are requesting motorists with dashcam footage that were in the area between 4.30pm and 5.30pm on Tuesday to come forward with any details that may assist the investigation.
