5 places I visited on my trip to Kenya – I recently had the opportunity to visit Kenya and it was an incredible experience. I met so many amazing people. Here are five places of the highlights from my trip.
I arrived in Kenya at precisely 10 PM at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi, the capital of Kenya. It’s a bustling, vibrant city with a lot to see and do. I loved exploring the different neighborhoods and getting a taste of the local culture.
5 places I visited on my trip to Kenya – Maasai Mara National Reserve
From Nairobi, I took a safari through the Maasai Mara National Reserve. It was incredible to see all of the animals in their natural habitat. The highlight for me was definitely seeing a pride of lions up close and personal.
The Maasai Mara National Reserve is located in southwest Kenya and covers an area of 1,510 square kilometers. The reserve is home to many different animals, including lions, cheetahs, and monitor lizards, so be sure to take your camera with you so you can take some amazing photos.

And I took it all in from a hot air balloon. It was an interesting afternoon soaring above the plains and getting a bird’s eye view of the animals below. I’ll suggest you do it too, it’s an experience you won’t forget so soon.

You can see all sorts of different animals in their natural habitat, which is truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience. There are many different safari tour companies that operate in Kenya, so be sure to do your research before booking one.
Nakuru National Park
After all that fun on the safari, I visited Lake Nakuru National Park. It’s home to a massive flock of flamingos that absolutely took my breath away. It was truly a sight to behold.
My trip to Kenya would have been complete without a visit to Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain in Africa. I didn’t have time to get to the summit, but just standing at the base of the mountain was an awe-inspiring experience.
Amboseli National Park and the Nairobi National Parks
My last stop was Amboseli National Park and the Nairobi National Park, where I got to see elephants up close and personal. It was such a magical experience that I’ll never forget.
The Nairobi National Park is one of the oldest national parks in Kenya. It is located just 7 kilometers from the city center of Nairobi, which makes it a very convenient place to visit. The park is home to many different animals, including lions, leopards, giraffes, and rhinos.
