Cardi B is prepared to perform “Pull Up” at the American Music Awards in 2022.
Page Six can exclusively reveal that the 30-year-old rapper will perform at the awards presentation at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on Sunday evening.
Cardi is also nominated for Favorite Female Hip-Hop Artist, competing with GloRilla, Latto, Megan Thee Stallion, and Nicki Minaj.
The highly anticipated performance of the “WAP” singer will be one of her first major performances since the tragic death of family member Takeoff.
The rapper, who was shot and killed in Texas on November 1 at the age of 28 years old, was the cousin of Offset, Cardi’s husband. Together, they formed the hip-hop group Migos with Quavo.
Cardi said in a lengthy Instagram caption earlier this month, “The influence you made on the world was so monumental, and we have battled to comprehend this tragedy.”
“I am heartbroken, but I am glad for the priceless memories we were able to create together while you were with us. This has been a true nightmare, and the suffering is unparalleled.”
Cardi, who has been married to Offset, 30, since 2017, joined Lizzo on stage at the Kia Forum in Inglewood, California, on Friday night. The crowded venue enthusiastically applauded the duo as they performed their 2021 hit “Rumors” together.
“I am a HUGE Cardi B fan!” I’ve been her fan since before love&hiphop… But as much as I admire her as an artist, who she is as a PERSON is UNMATCHED,” the 34-year-old “About Damn Time” singer later exclaimed in an Instagram post.
“@iamcardib Thank you for always coming through for me and defending us when you didn’t have to. You are the people’s champion! I LOVE U.”
The 2022 American Music Awards, presented by Wayne Brady, will air on ABC on Sunday at 8 p.m. ET/PT and the following day on Hulu.
Pink, Carrie Underwood, Imagine Dragons, Bebe Rexha, Charlie Puth, GloRilla, Lil Baby, and Stevie Wonder are among the already announced artists.
