10 details from Sunday’s ‘The Walking Dead’

Next week, we may finally learn what happened to the Oceanside crew.

Aaron, Jerry, Elijah, and Lydia will soon arrive in Oceanside. Will they arrive, and if so, what will they discover?

AMC

Aaron informs Maggie in a quick line of conversation on Sunday’s episode that they are going to check on Oceanside. Aaron also hints that a long-missing character, Cyndie, may finally appear (Sydney Park). He informs Maggie that he intends to brief both her and Rachel, both of whom are leaders in Oceanside, on their plans for reconstructing their respective cities.

Next week’s episode should begin with a flashback depicting what happened to the Oceanside crew. Season 11, episode 16 of April concluded on a cliffhanger with Lance choosing the community’s destiny.

Since then, we are unaware of their whereabouts.

It is likely that they were all slain by Lance’s people and that all Aaron, Jerry, Elijah, and Lydia will find of them on the road are their walker forms, which would be extremely devastating. Hopefully, a resolution will be found.

Lance may have just divulged really vital information.

Is Lance in a covert partnership with a group that we may already be familiar with?

AMC

In the Sunday episode, Lance cautions Governor Milton that “certain alliances the Commonwealth has, certain stabilizing forces, are likely to become a problem” if anything were to happen to him.

Is he using bluff? Maybe.

If not, it is feasible that Lance has ties to a community we have yet to encounter. As a reminder, in episode 13 of season 11, Lance alluded to the fact that he diverted part of the resources intended for the reconstruction of Alexandria to “that other thing.”

We hope it will be revealed that Lance has encountered a member of the Civic Republic Military (CRM), a group of approximately two hundred thousand shown in “The Walking Dead: World Beyond.” Also, Rick was reportedly transported to this group when he departed “The Walking Dead” in November 2018.

It is difficult to conceive that such a large number would be unaware of the Commonwealth, which contains approximately 50,000 survivors. The primary CRM locations are in upstate New York and Portland, Oregon. A third location in Nebraska was demolished. Meanwhile, the Commonwealth is in Ohio.

Since we know Rick will eventually return in his own spin-off series with Michonne, it would be an ideal opportunity to connect the wider “The Walking Dead” universe.

Lydia was thanked by Daryl for rescuing Carol.

In the 2020 season 10 finale, Carol nearly walked to her death when Lydia grabbed her.

In the tenth season, episode sixteen, Carol considered committing suicide by plunging into a chasm with a horde of the dead in order to stop the suffering and grief she has endured over the years.

In an emotional moment, Lydia pulls her back from the precipice, enabling her to rediscover the fortitude to continue living and contributing to the community.

R.J. is reading a well-known comic book.

Carl already read the same comic.

AMC

R.J. is seen reading issue No. 56 of “Invincible,” another comic by Robert Kirkman, the writer of “The Walking Dead.”

The comic has appeared on the programme previously. Carl, R.J.’s brother, who also like comics, was reading “Invincible” in episode 10 of season six. Prior to that, Carl was shown in the season four opener reading the exact same issue as R.J. It was concealed behind a stack of comics that R.J.’s birth mother, Michonne, gave to Carl.

It is likely that this comic is from Carl’s collection and was handed on to his brother.

Sebastian mentions a brother that never appeared in the comics.

In this tiny moment, you feel some pity for Sebastian, whose character on “The Walking Dead” is becoming increasingly complex.

Sebastian admits that he had a deceased brother when ranting to Max, hinting that his brother’s death is partially responsible for his behavior. In the comics, Sebastian has no siblings.

During a pre-season interview, Insider asked Laila Robins, who portrays Sebastian’s mother, about the alteration. She explained that Sebastian’s unnamed elder brother was invented to give her character and the Milton family more depth.

“When we were thinking about the backstory, we were trying to determine why I’m so disappointed in Sebastian, and I believe it’s partly because we determined that the prior son should have been the golden child who was supposed to carry on the family’s tradition.” Robins stated to Insider.

“Having lost that child, I now have to deal with Sebastian, who is anything but a day at the beach,” Robins continued with a grin. This is a difficult child, which is disappointing because I can see the promise of his ancestry, but he’s not living up to the challenge.

Robins stated she was never provided the name of Sebastian’s older brother in response to our inquiry.

“No… If I’m not mistaken, I believe the backstory was mostly the result of conversations with the directors and other personnel. It wasn’t anything that was brought to me right away,” Robins said, adding of Sebastian, “We kind of spoke about ‘Hey, wouldn’t it be amazing if he was like the second child and a disappointment?’”

As Captain Commonwealth, wrestler Nick McNeil makes a guest appearance.

You may know McNeil as Percy Watson, his WWE alias.

Ezekiel ensures that Jerry’s children to safety after the Commonwealth is overtaken by the undead.

Ezekiel saves the day! In a brief moment, the strength of Ezekiel and Jerry’s friendship is evident.

Towards the end of the episode, as everyone was rushing about, you may have missed this extremely beautiful moment. Since Jerry is away on a trip with Aaron, Nabila is alone with their three children.

When the zombies invade the square and the parents are unable to carry all three of their children, Ezekiel jumps in to rescue one of them. At the Kingdom, Jerry has always had his king’s back. Not unexpectedly, Ezekiel has Jerry’s as well.

Rosita went to the store to purchase cotton candy for Father Gabriel.

Photos for Sunday’s broadcast depict Rosita holding cotton candy, a topic she and Gabriel previously discussed.

AMC/Jace Downs

Approximately halfway through the program, Gabe tells Rosita that he wishes his parishioners had given him cotton candy before they set out for Alexandria.

According to official photographs from the episode, another quick scene between best friends Eugene and Rosita was planned to have her carrying two sticks of the sweet delicacy.

Rosita was probably on her way to deliver one to Gabe, which would have been a sweet gesture considering their strained relationship in recent seasons. It would have made sense for Eugene to advise one of his closest pals that he was about to reveal knowledge that could lead to a community catastrophe.

However, we never observe this. Hopefully, she delivered it to him before the Commonwealth descended into turmoil near the episode’s conclusion.

Since Sebastian’s introduction to the show, “The Walking Dead” has implied that a walker may eventually kill him.

On Sunday’s episode, Sebastian had no chance of surviving against the walker that was thrown at him.

Josh Stringer/AMC and Jace Downs/AMC are two AMC actors.

If Sebastian’s death caught you entirely off guard, there were signs throughout the series that Pamela Milton’s self-absorbed and privileged son may be killed by a zombie.

Since his debut on “The Walking Dead” in season 11, episode seven, fans have been aware that Sebastian has no survival skills whatsoever when it comes to dealing with the undead.

Sebastian has repeatedly attempted and failed to kill the walkers used as target practice. Daryl and Eugene have to execute the zombie to ensure his safety. We anticipated that Sebastian wouldn’t fare well if he ever had to face toe-to-toe with a walker, which finally led to his demise on Sunday’s episode.

Sebastian may have died on Sunday’s episode of “The Walking Dead,” but he survives after killing Rick Grimes in the comics.

Sebastian’s murder of Rick Grimes is one of the most contentious comedic moments.

The Image Comics/Skybound publishing company

In the comics, the most controversial point in the series is when Sebastian murders the series’ protagonist, Rick Grimes. Sebastian’s actor, Teo Rapp-Olsson, told Insider that he did not know he was going to die until he read the screenplay for Sunday’s episode.

Rapp-Olsson stated that Angela Kang, the showrunner for the series, would typically contact her in such situations. “I was being an inquisitive actor and had actually asked someone in one of the other departments if they had a copy of the script. “Strange things that have happened to you”

“When I read the script, I thought, ‘Wow, that’s a bizarre thing that happened,’” Rapp-Olsson said of being bitten during the Sunday show.

Like comic book readers, Rapp-Olsson worried if he would kill off a major character.

“During the majority of my tenure on the program, I sat there theorizing in the same way that viewers did: ‘Oh, who would I kill? Would it be Ezekiel or Aaron?” Friday, Rapp-Olsson told Insider via a Zoom interview.

“When I first joined, it wasn’t even guaranteed that I would appear in more than three episodes,” he admitted.

Rapp-Olsson noted that he is aware that Sebastian’s death on the program may have been a satisfactory turn of events for fans who were devastated by Rick’s death in the comic and that Sebastian survived in the comic.

Rapp-Olsson said of Sebastian, “I know what this character has meant to so many fans, especially those who have read the comics and even those who have watched the show.”

“Everyone has been so kind. I have not received any negative comment from fans,” Rapp-Olsson remarked, referring to the absence of hate mail. Everything has been characterized by the phrase ‘I love to loathe you. I hope you interpret that correctly. And I was like, fair. Then I’ve done a good job.”

Here you may find our complete conversation with Rapp-Olsson.
